Where to stay in Lake Como’s Southern part

The southern part of the Como basin is influenced by the city of Como, from which the lake derives its name. Como, which is only 40 min away from Milan, boasts a tranquil ambiance, a charming historic centre, and a captivating lakeside promenade. The city also features numerous high-end fashion boutiques and a plethora of restaurants.

A perfect way to stroll around the city is to enjoy a food & wine tour which visits the main local attractions. A superb holiday option is the renowned Vista Palazzo hotel.

Adjacent to Como is the well-known town of Cernobbio, celebrated for its picturesque lakeshore and the iconic Villa d’Este hotel.

Where to stay in Lake Como’s central part

For those seeking absolute serenity, we recommend choosing one of the villages situated between the southern and central regions of the Como branch. Options abound, including the towns of Laglio, famous for George Clooney’s Villa Oleandra, Blevio, renowned for the Mandarin Oriental, and Torno, home to the Sereno hotel.

Slightly farther north, Nesso is renowned for its Roman bridge, and Argegno boasts the beautiful Piazza Roma.

With numerous options available, rest assured that any choice will be satisfying. We strongly advise a minimum stay of 3 nights to allow ample time for exploration, relaxation, and various activities. Consider our Cooking Class in Bellagio or opt for boat tours that can commence from any point within the Como basin.
